Ko’s Story (South Kingsville – 8/10/2021)

“During the lockdowns in 2021 I felt a bit down and was missing my family friends and colleagues.

I had a strong desire to be outside in nature and to grow plants flowers to cheer me up. Starting with zinnias, I grew polyanthus, snapdragon, cornflowers, poppies, alyssum, cineraria, iris, on & on, I couldn’t stop.

Then I planted a little garden of local native plants. After that I moved on to vegetables – silver beet, kale, peas, carrots, beetroot, lettuce, rocket, and herbs.

Now I’m growing from seed to plant out my nature strip – native plants, sunflowers and zinnias. It’s going to look great in summer.”
