ROOT – MOSS – BLOSSOM – FEATHER

Women’s Support Network offers a safe space and friendly environment for women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to access, explore and learn about themselves through movement, meditation and art. No art experience is required.

In this 12 week program we will explore four themes relating to different aspects of our wellbeing using the nature metaphors of Root, Moss, Blossom, Feather.

We will use a variety of movement, meditation and art techniques to explore meanings unique to each one of us, and in the process may learn more about ourselves.

Using a range of art and craft materials and techniques, we will experiment with ways to express our explorations of these themes. There is no right or wrong, good or bad, in fact there is no judgement at all.

Whatever each person creates or makes is valued as a unique expression coming directly from its creator and because of this, each work will be respected for its integrity and personal meaning.

Participants will be invited to include art works they created during the program in a group exhibition. Works can be attributed to the artist or remain anonymous and the decision to exhibit or not rests with the participant. The aim of the exhibition is to generate open discussion around mental wellbeing in the general community.
